Visual Journaling Club-September 2026
Visual Journaling Club: A Weekly Creative Practice
Make space for your stories. Play on the page. Connect with others.
Your life is full of moments worth remembering—but journaling doesn't have to mean filling pages with paragraphs.
Visual journaling gives you another way to capture your life through images, color, words, photographs, layers, textures, and the little details that make your memories yours.
Join us for a weekly virtual visual journaling class where we'll explore creative techniques, experiment with supplies, and make meaningful pages together.
Sundays at 6:00 PM Central · 1 hour · Live on Zoom
What We'll Explore
Each week brings a new technique, idea, and writing prompt. We'll explore:
* Collage — layer papers, images, ephemera, and found pieces
* Stamping — create patterns, texture, borders, and focal points
* Stenciling — add shapes, color, and visual interest
* Basic page layouts — learn simple ways to arrange photos, words, and artwork
* Personal writing — capture thoughts, memories, observations, and stories
* Hidden journaling — tuck private thoughts into your pages in creative ways
* Photos from your life — bring your real memories onto the page
* Creative supplies — experiment with different materials and discover what you enjoy
* Writing prompts — receive a fresh prompt each time we meet to spark your creativity
You can work in one journal from week to week or move between several journals. There are no rules about what your journal has to look like—or what you have to put in it.
A Little Demonstration, Then Time to Create Together
Each class has two parts.
First: Learn & Explore — 15–30 minute demonstration
I'll introduce the week's technique or idea and demonstrate ways to use it in your own journal. This portion of the class will be recorded, so you can revisit the demonstration later.
Then: Connect & Create — the rest of our hour
The second half is intentionally not recorded. This is our time to slow down, work on our journals, talk, ask questions, share ideas, and enjoy some creative community.
We'll have conversation, community building, and show-and-tell, giving everyone a chance to share what they're making—or simply enjoy creating alongside others.
Come As You Are
You don't need to be an artist. You don't need fancy supplies. And you certainly don't need to know what you're doing before you begin.
Bring the supplies you already have. Bring photographs from your life. Bring scraps, stamps, stencils, words, memories—or simply bring yourself.
There is no “right” way to visual journal.
This is a place to experiment, remember, play, and tell your stories in whatever way feels good to you.
