INTRODUCTION
My mailbox is full of bills, ads, and junk mail. Some of it I love (for collage purposes), most of it, not so much.
With technology making it easy to email or post to social media, instead of sending a handwritten letter or card, our hearts are suffering with each trip to the mailbox. Would you agree? I know that sounds a little extreme,
however . . .
Do you remember the joy you felt the last time you received a special card in the mail?
Have you ever participated in a group exchange, where you sent out a certain number of cards, and received that many in return?
I have participated in mail exchanges, and it makes checking the mail exciting again! Not only do you receive something other than a bill in the mailbox, you get to see someone's handwriting, art, sentiments, or maybe a favorite quote written to lift your spirit. If you exchange with people from around the world, you also see a range of postage stamps, which can be incredibly interesting.
My point to all of this is to hopefully get you jazzed to make a little art and send something out to a friend, family member, classmate, stranger, or even to yourself. This act of giving not only brings joy to the recipient, but also fills you up, as well.
