Gel Printing with Stencils and Masks
Are you wondering what the difference is between a stencil and a mask?
A stencil has holes where the paint goes through.
A mask covers the background, so the paint goes over or around the mask.
You'll get the hang of it with some gel printing time under your belt! Let's play!
Supplies:
- Gel plate (Gelli Arts or Gel Press or a plastic place mat will suffice)
- Soft rubber brayer (I like the 4-inch soft rubber brayer by Speedball)
- Acrylic paints
- Stencils and masks (manufactured or handmade)
- Paper to print onto-copy paper, deli paper, rice paper, cardstock
- Roll off paper (I like the legal size copy paper)
- Baby wipes
