So, yesterday I "shampooed" my hair with conditioner, and "conditioned" my hair with shampoo. It took me a few minutes to figure out why my hair still felt all tangly!
Yup! It's been one of those weeks, well months, really.
In the hope of spreading some joy and light, I am sharing a few journal pages I worked on this morning.
If you don't know it already, I am all about creative exploration, creative expression and playing with art supplies.
One of my most favorite things to do is to take online classes to learn new techniques, gain inspiration, and keep my hands moving.
Today marked the beginning of two online classes I am participating in. One is Alisa Burke's Grateful heART Journal. Today, Alisa just happened to launch her biggest sale of the year on some of her art and online classes. I highly recommend you take a peek to see if anything interests you. All of her online classes have unlimited access, which I so, so appreciate. I find myself going back to some of my favorites over and over again.
Here's what I created for the Grateful heART Journal class today.
I also started in Diane Culhane's "Between Speech & Silence (Remake)" featured on carlasonheim.com
Today's lesson is inspired by the art of Paul Klee. I just happened to have a journal that I made years ago. The pages are made of brown kraft paper, and the cover is a print of Paul Klee's art! I decided I had to use this journal for Diane's class.
Here's what I created today for "Between Speech & Silence (Remake)".
And since I was on a roll of working in various art journals, I decided to pull out the journal I worked in for Juliana Coles' Initiation: An Introduction to Visual Journaling online class. I believe she just re-released it. Juliana's art is incredible. It's raw and expressive, and I adore looking at her journal pages. If you are ready to dive into the grit and the grime of your life and art supplies, take her classes for sure!
Here are a couple of shots from the page spread I worked on in my altered Initiation visual journal:
Can you kind of understand now, why I have so many different art journals? Each one holds a certain energy for me. Each one inspires me in a different way. Some journals I use for a specific online class I am participating in.
For more art journal inspiration, I have several things to share:
First, I am going to be brave and share one of my first ever videos I made in 2013! We'll call it an oldie, but goodie!
I am still working on becoming more brave in front of the camera. I mean, who isn't, right?
Second, 2016 was a great year for me to tackle that fear of creating more videos. I am a featured artist in two amazing online collaborative programs.
In Spectrum 2016, I offer the "Forgiveness Art Cards" workshop. This workshop contains tons of fun mixed media techniques, demonstrated via photos and video. Of course, I also talk about forgiveness, and why it might be something you may want to consider.
In 21 Secrets-Color, Color, Color, I offer the "Draw, Paint, and Print Artful Color Patterns" workshop. In this workshop, I first take you through several of my most recent art journals, page by page. Next, I show ideas for drawing, painting, and printing patterns in your art journal. I have to share that it has been so uplifting to see people sharing their art via the 21 Secrets Facebook Group. Their artful color patterns have inspired me to no end. If you are a class participant reading this, thank you for sharing your art with me!!!
Finally, I invite you to take a look at the above online class offerings. If you register with the link from my site for the programs where I am a guest teacher, I get paid as a teacher. I would like to thank you in advance for your support. It means the world!
In case you are interested in expressive painting and writing, may I recommend The Beautiful BEing Program? (This is my baby from 2016. It's deep, nourishing, and encourages you to experience more self-love.)
If you need to set your intentions and clarify your dreams and wishes for the future, Vision Board the E-Course can't be beat!
Thank you, thank you for being part of my community.
If you are local to the Twin Cities, please share any thoughts you have for future classes you'd like to see me offer, including day of the week, and time of day. Send me an email at orangespiralarts (at) gmail (dot) com. Again, thank you! I appreciate you!
Blessings and Peace,
Briana
