Okay Friends,
I have a situation. I got sooooo over excited about ICAD 2016, that I made 53 cards before the official start date of June 1st.
Here's what happened. I had a day to myself. Read that again. I had a day to myself!!!! Yes!
I started playing with coffee in the morning.
I also played with colorful children's markers. I usually prefer Crayola over CraZArt markers. However, for the experiments on the index cards, I was exploring what CraZArt had to offer. I noticed slightly more muted colors, and enjoyed playing with them!
Then I moved on to gouache in the afternoon.
I learned that Winsor & Newton gouache is far superior to Reeves, but I enjoyed playing with both of them. I had a boxed set by Reeves with some crappy brushes inside. I used the crappy brushes all afternoon and do not recommend them. Next time, I will at least use better brushes.
And then I started reconnecting to the work of Heather Day. I came across her art about a year ago and totally fell in love with it.
I had to make some marks on index cards immediately!
And then the marks were being called to a paper plate paint palette I had sitting to my left.
Expressive mark making feels sooooo good! I highly recommend that you try it!
So, that's 53 cards out of 61, if I so choose to do things that way.
OR there are fun prompts, themes, and topics on Tammy's site here.
I am honestly trying to decide what I want to do. Part of me wants to try out the prompts and see what happens after making an actual card-a-day for 61 days.
The other part of me worries that I won't stick with the program. Ug!
What are your thoughts on what you might do? What would you do if you were me? Ha!
Thanks in advance for your thoughtful comments below.
Blessings,
Briana
