I discovered a great shop in Uptown Minneapolis recently. It is called Regla de Oro, which means, "The Golden Rule". They offer many products by local artists, as well as fair trade goods. I snapped some pictures for inspiration, and so that I could share them with you. If you are local to the Twin Cities, I recommend you give this shop a visit.
The typewriters, cards, mixed media books, and poetry offerings spoke to my writer and artist self.

I also loved the musical instruments and other fair trade items, such as these colorful bracelets below.

Lime green and orange are my favorite colors, so I was kind of in love with this basket of bracelets!
In fact bright colors in general make me swoon (which makes me think of Jessica Swift because she loves color, too). A quick true confession: I recently got stuck in the candy isle at Walgreens, just because it was so colorful.

I am not much of a bracelet wearer, unless it is unobtrusive and close to my skin, like my friend Emily Floyd's leather cuffs. However, this rack sure was pretty to look at!
I absolutely love greeting cards. I think Lisa Sonora Beam said it best, "greeting cards are like little affordable works of art". Yes, yes, yes, who doesn't love that?!

I didn't get a picture, but there were some lovely photo cards in this shop as well.

I think it was the colors, the three dimensial aspect, and the gestures of these little guys that drew me in. What do you think about the wire people on bikes?
Although this isn't a very good photo, I will share it anyway because I love turtles. I especially love turtle objects from around the world.

And last but not least, here is another bad photo, but it has the store name and hours so I wouldn't forget where I was, and so I would know when I could go visit again.

I hope you enjoyed this store tour. There was a lot more to see, so do try to stop in sometime.
